hi is it pretty easy to add personal recipes? I have found several apps that
will work but adding a recipe is a major pain and for me, if it isn't pretty
easy I am never going to add all of my recipes that I just have laying around
here so it does no good to have the program. Thanks RF

  Hi Roger,

I highly recommend an app called Paprika. The developers have done a bunch of
work to make the app more accessible with Voiceover and if a main stream
developer does that it's always a good thing. If you create an account your
recipes will also be backed up and synced between multiple iDevices if you have
more than one.

If you ever get a new phone all you have to do is enter your user name and
password and you have all your recipes back. I found this very useful when I
did a factory restore on my iPhone after upgrading to iO/S 6 and forgot that I
had recipes in there. At first I thought I lost them because I couldn't
remember if I had setup an account or not, then I did the password recovery
thing, was able to log in and here were my recipes. You can also import recipes
from a number of cooking and recipe websites.

They also have an app for Mac computers, nothing for the PC, however. Here is
what they write in their support/FAQ section:

Question: Do you have a Windows version?

  Answer:

We do not currently have a Windows version of Paprika, nor is one planned at
this time.

However, if there is enough interest, we may produce a web-based version in
the future.

I have written to them and mentioned that I'd love to see a web version
although to be honest, having the iOS app really is all you need in my opinion.
I can have my iPhone or an iPod Touch in the kitchen and if you put it in a
ziplock bag you can even touch and use it with fingers that are greasy, wet or
full of sticky dough etc.

I suggest you check out Paprika on the app store and also take a look at
their website:

  Regards,

  Sieghard
