No, I had missed that part and it is still not possible in iOS 16.6 public beta. But again, bringing up this alphabetical list is more a result of activating the search field/function, it would maybe be different if Apple gave you a button at the top where you could choose whether to display the list alphabetically, by install date, by app type etc.
