I think this is a result of a change in the app. You used to be able to scroll past the suggested groups and find a link for all the groups you already belong to but not anymore. What I do now is perform a search on the group I want and it is usually the first result. Admittedly this will be a pain if you waant to find a large number of groups, but it is a work around.
