Click the Facebook Menu tab, which is the one at the far right of the buttons along the bottom. I then click the “Top Shortcuts button and can find the “Groups” button there. As I tested this just now, I also see a Groups button just below my “Top Shortcuts” button. Sometimes I think I have had to click the “All shortcuts” option to find groups, but that could have been user error. Right now, it’s looking really simple to find groups. I’m on the most current FB version.
