One person who couldn't care less about "all that green stuff" as you call it is insignificant, but 100 Million or 1 Billion people not caring makes a big difference. If one person threw their empty plastic water bottle out of the window driving along a highway it would be insignificant, but unfortunately thousands do it and the ditches along our roads are full of garbage. I live in a smal town in Northwestern British Columbia and every spring our local Christian Highschool cleans up a stretch of highway, just a few miles, but it's unbelievable how many garbage bags full of waste they collect each year and I just can't understand anybody who throws out even a scrap of paper. And then there are the moments when I walk along my typical route to work and kick a coffee cup somebody threw out of their window or maybe they dropped it walking along and it's 100 feet away from the public garbage bin. Humanity is far away from reducing waste and living a more sustainable lifestyle and unless a vast majority of people are prepared to do things which may cost extra or which may inconvenience them a little, we will never get there.

But having watched the "big event" I can say that my reaction was a huge yawn. I have zero interest in getting an apple watch and couldn't care less about all the carbon neutral stuff. Of course I care about the environment, but none of that green-washing is going to change my mind about any of these new devices.
