I was curious, so I did a web search for Wi-Fi smoke detectors and f∀ a few reviews that pointed out that their are not very many, and that if you are not at home, it can send a message to your phone ... and some have the ability to put one in each room and then it can even alert you to which room the fire has started. These sound very expensive. Some can be hard wired or have a ten year battery. Weather the app will be accessible is anyone's guess. That is a question for the manufacturer.
