I know that I can use quick nav when using my Bluetooth keyboard. This is done with VO Q to toggle. Then H will be heading , T for table, and so on.

So having it speak tells me exactly which state it is in. This is both for when you toggle it manually or when it changes automatically like when you enter an edit field. I will assume that braille would show it on a braille display.
