Hello, What navigation/GPS apps are you using these days?
I tried Lazarillo and didn’t find it as good as I’d remembered when it first came out. That’s purely subjective. I felt the directions and general awareness weren’t consistent, but again, just a me thing. I tried VoiceVista and did not find it quite as good as I’d remembered SoundScape. I’m going to keep working with both apps, because I’m convinced it’s just me quickly opening apps when I need them in the moment and not necessarily exploring them when I have a little more time to familiarize myself with the interface. I like Google Maps and the native Maps app, the former slightly more for its ability to tell me if the destination is on the left or right, but I feel as though I have to supplement these with a third party app to get a more complete experience. In my opinion, nothing compares to Nearby Explorer, but I’m working with blind students who would ideally get the right navigation app at little or no cost.
