How did screen recognition work with your pool control app? If not at all, then the app is completely inaccessible.
The Sonos app, if you have any sonos speakers, works better with screen recognition.
I have not found a lot of other apps where it helped. My Arboleaf app for my scale reads better with it on, but that is about it.
Someone said the weather channel worked better with it.

Hi , yes , I understood that.  I was just surprised that with screen recognition on in that app, it just looked normal to me, which was not what someone else was reporting.

Does anyone know under what circumstances screen recognition works well?  In the pool controller app we are trying to assess, without screen recognition, the app pretty much says nothing with voiceover.  It doesn’t announce the word “button” or anything.

Thanks,

Pam

I suggested you turn screen recognition on for the BARD Mobile App just to see what it looks like. It is nonsense to actually use if with the BARD Mobile App though. I thought it would just give you some ideas on how it works and what it might look like with an inaccessible app. I’d just forget I ever brought that up if I were you! 😉

I am still trying to understand how this works.  It was mentioned in another thread that someone turned screen recognition on for the Bard app, specifically, just to see how it acted.  Someone else said they did this and got nonsense from the app.  I turned it on for Bard, and when I entered Bard it said screen recognition on, but acted normally.  I understand that this should not be turned on for apps that work with voiceover, but am just trying to understand what is going on.

I was trying to experiment with it to see if it might work with the Omnilogic app for controlling our pool, which isn’t at all accessible once you have logged in.  Unfortunately, we are just at the stage where we are trying to determine if there is any way to make this app accessible, so the only way we can really try it is to have our pool service rep connect to someone else’s pool that uses this controller.

OK, sounds great.  That is really what I thought it might be about, but glad you confirmed it.  Take care.

The Apply to Apps is so you can select some apps to automatically load screen recognition.  It is useful once you determine an app works best with Screen Recognition on.

For me, I set Sonos to load screen recognition automatically.

Also now, my Arboleaf app for my scale.

I’d leave it alone until you determine an app needs Screen Recognition.

No, but I just did.  There is also a button that says, apply to apps.  Do I tap on that one as well or leave it alone?

Did you try going into VoiceOver Settings, VoiceOver Recognition and turning Screen Recognition on there.

Make sure it is saying selected in the rotor items section on Screen Recognition.

Then, going into an app and check the rotor?

Hi, As long as we are on the subject, I put screen recognition on the rotor, or at least I thought I had.  I went in to rotor and selected it but it does not appear in the rotor.  No matter where I am in the phone.  I can be on a web site and it is still not in the rotor.  Any ideas why?  Thanks much.
