Try this. Control S to open up the Side Bar; there is no message to indicate that this is opened or closed.. Press f6 until you hear the word "sources. "You have a list there of "music," "moves," "TV shows," "apps," etc. I have created play lists of my music and those appear there as well.
Arrow down to "Apps". After highlighting APPS, press F6 again and you should either be in the list right there or tab once or twice to find it. Ii am not at home right now so can't test it. If you want to see if that side bar is on or off before starting this process, press f6 several times. If you hear "sources" it's open; if you don't, it's closed.
