Hi this is interesting and good to know. I also was wondering why it was that when I would wair my watch that I would hear it ping and vibrate but only when I touched it would it announce the notifications.

While wearing your watch, by default, sounds from all notifications will go to your watch. You can control this in the watch app on your phone under notifications.
