Hi. I’m enjoying my iPad. It’s a little different from my iPhone 13 Pro Max, but it isn’t too bad.
I agree an iPad won’t do some things my PC does, but that’s not why I got it. I wanted something to write thoughts down when I’m out and about. With the Magic Keyboard, it does the job nicely. One thing I’ve learned is the volume of the iPad is quite loud. As for playing music, smart speakers won’t do what I want. For example, on my Echo Dot, I tell it to play love songs. For about the first couple of hours, I hear different songs, but after that songs start repeating. I have a very large music collection. It’s so big that I’ll never hear all the songs in it. If the music services had a mode where it picked from all available songs, then I’d be happy. Also, the internet can go down, and when that happens, I’m stuck with nothing to hear. Just my thoughts. I love my iPhone, but I have a sense you bought the iPad to replace a PC and in my opinion that is a big step backward in doing things efficiently especially when it comes to browsing the web and doing a lot of email and stuff like that. As for your music, you may very well be able to play music from an external drive, but you’ll never get the same experience as you have when you subscribe to Apple Music an use the music app or simply ask Siri to play whatever you want to listen to etc. That is just my 2 cents worth, my wife and I have an iPad, but it was mostly a surface for dust to gather on which is why I’ll be selling it. The speed and efficiency I have with my computer and Jaws simply cannot be matched. They were successful, but it was an instrumental folder which didn’t have much in it, but I now knew it could be done. The next day was Mother’s Day, and I had my Brother try it. He got something to play. This evening I decided to wait out the time for everything to be set up, and it took about 15 minutes to load. I’m happy to report the song I played worked great. I’m happy now. I just need to find someone to tell me how to get this working and what can be done with the iPad. If I can’t find anybody to help, I’ll do my own research.
