First of all, why shouldn’t an Apple rep not use an Android phone, I am sure many employees who work for google or Samsung have iPhones just as I am sure Apple employes use Windows PC’s and Microsoft employees use Mac computers. Not every employee who works at Ford drives a Ford and you can continue with such examples.
As for this issue Janet describes with the volume going up or down automatically, I don’t have this issue on my iPhone 16 Pro. I wonder if her volume buttons some get stuck so that if they are pressed, the volume continues to go down or up as if you press and hold them. If this can be reproduced at will, I’d try to make an appointment at an Apple Store as it may simply mean the phone is defective in some way. As for setting the volume to 95%, as Richard said, this is possible, From: [email protected] <[email protected]> On Behalf Of Lyne Sent: Saturday, June 28, 2025 6:20 PM To: [email protected] Cc: [email protected] Subject: Re: Volume On An iPhone 16 Pro Question Please. Sirious! The rep use an Android and works for Apple! How did you try to changed your volume? Did you try with rotor? Lyne Le 28 juin 2025 à 18:52, janet gross <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> a écrit : The rep told me the reason why my volume goes high and then goes low, is what Apple considers to be expected behavior, and for those who are having this same volume issue, instead of having the volume in settings set to 100 percent, turn it down to maybe 98 or 95, to see if that will help, but if not, use the up or down volume buttons to raise or lower the volume sound. So I tried to turn the volume down to 98 or 95 percent, but on my phone it goes from 100 percent to 90 percent. So there doesn’t seem like there is going to be any fix for this one. I also asked the rep about what the Silent Mode is in the sound and haptics settings for to show in the status bar just thinking I was accidentally swiping across the screen that maybe that was raising or lowering the volume. The rep said if the setting to show in the status bar is turned on it will show in the status bar on my screen, but that doesn’t show in my status bar on my screen, rather I have that setting turned on or off. So, I turned it off, but I noticed when I turned off the Silent Mode not to show in the status bar, that automatically turned off my phone ringer, as well as turned off any alerts, so I turned back on the show in status bar, and had to turn back on my phone ringer. I’m sorry but, I just don’t see any logic in all this, matter of fact, the Apple rep said the same thing, but she is using an Android Phone! Although, when I first talked to her she told me that Apple knows about this and many people are having the same issue, and that Apple has been and still is working on this, but then, she read more about what Apple had to say about the volume, and that is when she told me Apple is saying that is expected behavior.
