Let's be honest: it was blind users who ruined Voice Dream Reader with the attitude of "give me everything I demand, but don't charge me for it." You get what you pay for — that's just how the market works.
If you want the features Voice Dream Reader offers, use it while it's still in the App Store, because I honestly think its days are numbered. No other app will give you that same bundle — ebooks, audiobooks, multiple sources, accessibility, cross-device sync — all for free. Reading comes down to personal preference. If VDR officially goes away, I won't miss it. Right now I'm all in on ElevenReader with my Ultra subscription, and for audiobooks I use Echobox Player, which was actually designed by a blind user.
