Are either of these possible while on a call on my IPhone 5? I thought I could do it with voice memos, but when I double tapped the call button, while voice memos was recording, it shut voice memos off. I then was going to try making the call, while voice memos was running, but not recording yet, but when I pressed the home button to go back to voice memos, while the phone call was in progress, (luckily, it was one of those recordings playing, not a real person), it locked the whole thing up and it took holding down the power button two or three times to get it unlocked. So I am scared to try that again. I have not tried it, while notes is running.
