Hi Ezzy Avenue never had that problem with my iPhone five so it might be a 
glitch with just one iPhones I think that you might want to give Apple a call 
and as for your mu button if you had your keypad you have an option for 
contacts mute and add a call him FaceTime and keypad and so am I don't know 
what to tell you after that I hope I could help you
