Hi, I tried their service maybe a year ago or so. You might want to search the archives because there was a bit of a discussion about it at the time.
My thought on this is that I feel $25 is pricy, yes, you can read/listen to as many books as you want, but you don't own the books, it's like Netflix where you can stream as many movies as you like except of course Netflix is only $7.99. When I tried the service I started listening to a book I really wanted to read and about half way through I stopped one night and when I tried to pick up where I left off the next day I was informed that the book unfortunately was no longer available. I called customer support and was told that they somehow lost the rights to the book and that this was something that happens from time to time. I much prefer Audible where I can download the book and even if I at one point cancel my membership I still have access to the books I purchased. I buy my Audible credits in batches of 24 which is $229, so approx.. $9.54 or $9.55 a book. As a member I also have access to all their promotions, they just had one again where they offered 200 books for $4.95 a book and I ended up finding 10 books I liked. Just those 2 transactions netted me 34 books for $280 which means I paid $8.24 a book so 3 books at this average would be the same as paying $25 a month for the Simply Audio Books service. I sometimes read more than 3 books a month, but usually I can easily get additional books during one or another promotion from Audible for $5 to $7 and while in the end I might spend $100 or $150 more than what the $25 a month service would cost me, at least I own these books and they add to my growing library of books many of which I will read again at some point.
