There is another difference between NFB Newsline and Earl. Earl can not go
beyond a pay wall. So, if a news paper has a subscription, you won't see it
on Earl, even if you have a subscription to this paper. NFB gets
complimentry subscriptions because the newsline is non-proffit. Earl is
managed by a for profit company unless I am mistaken, and there would likely
be a greater user cost to subscribe to Earl if they had to pay for
subscriptions. By the way, I have them both, so this is not a plug for one
or the other.

Well, I finally got smart and realized that since there is an app out there
for just about everything, surely my local newspaper had one. They confirmed
that they had not one but two. I tried them both and found that one works
very well with VO and now I have access to the entire paper. I just checked
NFB Newsline at 11pm my time and noticed the number of articles is much
greater than it was this morning but they still don't appear to have the
entire paper. So I'll use the paper's app.

Thanks for all the helpful comments to my original question.

That could be what I'm noticing with the Statesman. My sighted wife usually
reads the paper in the morning, and when she points out an article to me,
I'll go try to find it in Newsline, and I'll frequently not find it there.

reflects those changes daily. So for example if I start reading today's
newspaper and it shows me 10 local news articles, then I read it later on
this evening it will show more articles. I have not compared to the actual
newspaper so I do not know if it is showing me all the articles available.

of the examples, changes the format of their digital markup fairly regularly
so Newsline is always playing catch up. I haven't found the normal on line
version of the Statesman accessible at all, and I wonder how Newsline
compares with other apps that give you access to the Statesman.
