If the screen is locked and no dial pad button appears, I hope that I will have time to unlock it, get into the phone app, and, if necessary, find the key pad button. A lot of these automated things don't give one much time to make their selection. I wish I had thought to practice this maneuver before disconnecting my other phone. I am going to get somebody to call me so I can practice it.

Hello,

In my experience, the answer is no. You will need to possibly double tap on the phone app or, double tap on the phone app and select the keypad.

In case the answer is no, I ask this question before I wish I had known the answer. If I receive a call, on my iPhone 5, from an automated service, such as from a doctor's office, where I have to press one to confirm an appointment, will the keyboard be available on screen for me to do it, and I just let it go to speaker phone to access the keyboard? If the keyboard isn't going to be there, how will I get to the keyboard? Finally, does my phone behave differently in this matter if the screen is locked or unlocked when I receive this call? I know that the keyboard is there if I place the call myself.

Thanks in advance for any information.
