Applecare I believe is protection for the phone.

care on it though. In fact, I advize people buying new phones on term to go for 
the extended warrantee. It's not worth locking yourself in for that long

    200 bucks for a refurbished phone on a term?  That seems a bit steep, 
especially if the term is 3 years.  I guess if you can buy apple care on that 
phone you might consider it.
