Unfortunately, I don't understand your question. Most email clients are going to support Exchange, such as the built in email client on the iPhone. What's not being supported here is that Google will no longer allow newer email addresses to use their Exchange servers, so to sync your Gmail, you'd have to use IMAP or POP instead of Exchange. Most clients will also support IMAP and POP.

work with my Gmail address. Do you know what email clients support exchange?
Itmight be worth changing email addresses to have that convenience!

No, gmail is no longer supporting exchange with gmail accounts if you
haven't set it up already. Apple supports exchange.

I'm not so sure on this. I just recently moved to a IPhone 5, and my
phone is sending and receiving my mail just fine. We have an exchange
server set up here at home. I didn't set it up myself, but in checking with
my hubby, he did it the usual way. I would think Apple would lose a lot of
business because of so many workplaces that are using the IPhone.

Correct. Not only that, but Microsoft Exchange is no longer supported for
new devices (i.e. if you've used Gmail via Exchange on your device before,
you can keep doing so but you can't set up new devices to use it). So for
all practical purposes, there's no Exchange support anymore.

So for synchronization of contacts, CardDav is really the only option.

When you add a Gmail account, you have the options for mail, calendar

either Exchange or CardDav, and CardDav is the way to go, as
described in the article Raul points to below.

Hi, yes if you add a gmail account into your iPhone for mail, you
will have the option for calendars and contacts as well. However the
method I gave in my first message is specifically for contacts. I
didn't include calendars.

Thanks for that link. I will read that tomorrow and also go hunt

iphone agenda and it will be synced with your gemail account or
does it not work that way?
Thanks

They give a quick overview on how to do it. There are also other
Google support articles on how to do this. I believe too that
there was a podcast posted on Apple Vis covering this same topic.

The only thing I wish the iPhone would do is sort by the file as
option that is offered in Gmail and Outlook, but alas... if there
is in facta way to do this, I'd sure like to know.

phHello,
I would like to use my gmail address book to keep everything
central (for example if i need to use a pc that i can see all my
contacts that i have on my idevice etc). Is it possible to set the
phone/contacts/agenda ios apps in such a way that entries you make
there will immediately be put in the gmail address book and also
the other way around?
Thanks in advance for any info,
Greetings, Anouk,
