Hi Peggy,

No offense, but that is exactly what I said. It does of course help if you
read somebody's entire message and not just the first line or paragraph.
Once again, this is not meant in a bad way, just pointing it out for down
the road when you feel it necessary to correct somebody who in fact didn't
require correcting. If you don't know what I am talking about please review
my message which is still in this conversation.

One other thing I'd like to point out though is the fact that if you want
the case to be fully waterproof yet you may not want to use it with a
headset all the time, it is necessary to always carry that little screw-in
plug with you since simply unplugging the headset will maintain water proof
status, but there will be no Voiceover because iOS still thinks a headset is
plugged in. You would have to unscrew and remove the entire adapter which
then opens up the hole for the headset and then screw in the little plug.

Regards,
Sieghard

It is not true that if you plug your headphones into the life proof case for
it is not waterproof. Life proof send you a special headphone adapter that
screws into the court that makes the case waterproof. It comes with the case
when you buy it.

Hi Lisa,

There are 2 ways you can use the Lifeproof case with earphones. The
first one is to plug your earphones straight into the phone through the hole
in the Lifeproof case. This way means the case it not fully
waterproof since water would get in around the earphones through the hole
and yes, the hole is only big enough for the small diameter jack of the
Apple headset.

If you want the case to be fully waterproof without using a headset, you use
a little plug which screws into that hole, it has an actual
thread and you screw the plug in tight and no water can get in.

If you want the case to be waterproof and use a headset, you use a little 2
or so inch adapter cable. It plugs into the headset port of
the phone and you also screw it down just like the plug. As soon as you
tighten it all the way, the jack of that adapter is down in the
> headset jack of the phone and the external speaker is disabled. Now on the
other end is a female plug-in where you plug in your headset and
here you could use any headset you want including a waterproof headset. No
water can get through the actual short cable/adapter and nothing can get
into the hole since it is completely sealed.

Peggy are the ports sealed in the case but accessible or how do you use the
headphone jack if it's not a Bluetooth connection? I thought
this was a waterproof rather than just water resistant case, so was just
curious.

Also what kind of headphones can you use. The cases I currently have will
only allow me to use headphones with cables the same size as the Apple
earbuds that came with the iPhone. I don't mean the size of the jack, I
mean the case cutout for the headphone is too narrow to allow me to connect
headphones unless their cable is as narrow as the Apple earbuds. That cable
is narrow enough to slip into the case and connect the jack to the phone.

Hope this makes sense.
