Calendar setup on the phone (or iPad) is pretty straightforward. 

I, too, use Siri to set up an event, though I sometimes need to edit in order 
to add info to the appointment. 

Have you worked with multiple calendars? VO won't read the calendar a 
particular event belongs to, unless you open the event. Nor will it give you a 
status update when you enable/disable a calendar's visibility. You can make the 
update, but VO won't tell you whether you're turned the calendar on or off.
