Keeping your calendar in the cloud, such as in Google Calendar, would be an option. Your calendar could be accessed from your iPhone, the web and other clients. Multiple people could subscribe to the calendar and others could be given access to update the calendar.

I currently use calendar in IOS and on mac for my schedule but haven't been
using it for massage clients scheduled.

Need a good way for interaction between office staff and I for it.
Currently they keep my schedule on the books with the doctor's schedule I work

office staff.

Hi Shelly,

I see what you mean. I don't have to use that many calendars, so I haven't run
into these problems a lot, but the problems you mention are certainly present
in iOS 6. I hope this improves in iOS 7.

I'm so glad you liked my iPHone book. I'm glad you're doing one that addresses
all the accessibility features of the iPHone, since it's important to get all
that information to the people who need it.

Best,
Anna

Hi Anna, and thanks,

Calendar setup on the phone (or iPad) is pretty straightforward.

I, too, use Siri to set up an event, though I sometimes need to edit in order
to add info to the appointment.

Have you worked with multiple calendars? VO won't read the calendar a
particular event belongs to, unless you open the event. Nor will it give you a
status update when you enable/disable a calendar's visibility. You can make the
update, but VO won't tell you whether you're turned the calendar on or off.

I really enjoyed your iOS book, by the way.

Hi Shelly,

I use siri to make appointments when I can because it's faster. I have a
calendar that I share with my family, and it works well. I had some trouble
setting it up in the first place. I was using the Mac, but I think it would be
easier on the phone. But I've found looking at dates and setting appointments
to be accessible.

Hi all,

I'm working on the chapter of my iOS book that covers Apple-provided iOS apps.
I've finally come face to face with the conundrum of Calendar app. Realizing
that it has some um, accessibility challenges, I want to do the following:

--point out instances in which VoiceOver just plain won't work properly
--list workarounds for VoiceOver inadequacies
--suggest alternatives to the Calendar app; both iOS apps, and accessible Web
calendar interfaces
--make good recommendations about how to manage calendaring, especially if
you're using multiple calendars, or need to interact with shared calendars from
an employer, or other group.

I have worked through the archives here, and have learned a lot. Now I'm
looking for any feedback, or especially effective ways you have found to manage
your calendar. No need to address all of the questions I've posed above, just
tell me what works for you. Feel free to respond on the list, or to me directly.

Many thanks,
-shelly
