Problem solved. I closed out the current web page and all is well. Thanks for a simple solution.

In your case, you either mistyped the pages address or the page that you tried to open from your bookmarks is down for whatever reason. Use the pages tab, found at the bottom right in safari and close the page. Then try retyping the desired website or opening the page from your bookmarks.
