Hi Ed, With touch typing, you slide your finger around the screen until you find the letter you want to type, then lift your finger to have it entered.
With standard typing, you locate the letter you want to type, then double tap it to have it entered rather like the way you would locate an app to open or control to activate. Hope that helps.
