Hi. I had a problem similar to that yesterday. I got into an app that popped
up an advertisement, and I could not get out, and there was no dismiss button.
I close the App Store and when I came back into the App Store, the
advertisement was still fullscreen! So, I went into the app switcher and close
the app. When I went back into the App Store, it was like I was never there.
All new and ready to start again.

I noticed, if you close your apps that are running after using them, you rarely
run into issues which we read about on this list. As a rule, I try to remember
to close all running apps at night before I go to bed.

How I close my apps are, Double-click the home button. Voice over will say,
app switcher. Then I swipe to the right with one finger. Voiceover will give
me the name of the app and tell me it's running and then tell me to swipe up
with three fingers to close the app. I again, swipe up with one finger, and
voiceover says, close and the name of the app that is running. I then double
tap with one finger to close that app. Then, if any other apps are open, the
next one will appear and voiceover will say, running. I again double tap using
one finger. I continue this procedure and till I hear the word home, meaning I
have closed all running apps. I double tap on the home button, and Voila, I am
back at the home screen. .
