Hi, the Plantronics M series headsets are mono as you ask and will work
with audio play back, but not fully. Meaning, that you cannot
start/pause the audio from the main headset button. So, if this is a
must-have feature, then these will not work for you. Other than that,
they are excellent headsets. Personally I prefer the M50 over the newer
M55, M155 and M165 models.
