Hi.
The apple TV also uses HDMI so you could either connect to one of your
HT receiver's HDMI inputs if available, or to one available on your TV
set. You can also use the optical out but do to copy protection, HDMI is
required for services like Netflix. Since HDMI handles both video and
audio on the same connection, optical out usually isn't needed.
