Just manually signed out of my Skype account on my iPhone 5S because since it normally signs me in automatically I never pay attention to this. So, after I signed out I get three very easy and straight forward buttons: Sign in with Skype Name Sign in with Microsoft account Create account Not sure why the Create account option is not there for you, my guess is that it is and maybe it's slightly different on the iPad as far as where these buttons are and you are somehow overlooking it. Are you physically there with your friend or are you helping him on the phone? I prefer to use my Microsoft account since I also use Outlook.com email, but I guess that's not that important except that if your friend has a Microsoft account, you could simply use that to sign in instead of creating a new account.
