Hi Jeffrey,

I think you are confusing some of this. You write: I disabled the VoiceOver
volume changed using buttons. I am not aware of such a setting anywhere.
You can go to Settings and Sounds and turn off ""Change with buttons".
However, if you swipe right once from this setting you hear Voiceover speak
the following explanation:
The volume of the ringer and alerts will not be affected by the volume
buttons.

This means that if you turn off "Change with buttons" this will only affect
the ringer and alert tones and you can't accidently turn the ringer volume
down to where you can't hear it in a noisy environment.

On my iPhone 5S I can change Voiceover volume without any problems using the
volume buttons even if "Change with buttons" is turned off.
I just do a 2-finger swipe up on the home screen so Voiceover starts reading
all the apps on the home screen and then I can turn Voiceover volume up or
down. I don't know if an iPhone 4 or 4S or even a 5 would behave different
from a 5S, but this should work and if it doesn't you might want to try and
empty your app switcher and reboot the phone to see if that makes a
difference.

Regards,
Sieghard

Subject: Possible Ssolution for VoiceOver Volume Problem

Hello,

After reading on this list about the problems people were having with the
VoiceOver volume getting stuck at 35% with the only fix to reset the phone,
I disabled the VoiceOver volume changed using buttons.

Then, the other night, while playing iFarkle, I needed to lower my VoiceOver
volume, and did so by swiping up with two fingers to initiate a SayAll of
the screen's content, and pressing the volume down button until it got down
to where I wanted it. Now, I realize I shouldn't have been able to do this,
given that I had changed the setting, but I didn't think much about it at
the time. When I left the game, I tried to reset the volume to a normal
level, and couldn't do it using the same technique. So, I went to the
voiceover settings, looking for somewhere to jack the volume up again. I
couldn't find anything, which makes me wonder how you're supposed to be able
to adjust the volume of VoiceOver if that setting is turned off.

Then, when I got sick of the annoyingly low volume, I decided to go back
into iFarkle and try to adjust it there, and lo and behold, it worked. I was
able to turn the volume up, using the volume up button while VoiceOver was
speaking. So, apparently this setting is not consistent while within certain
apps.

I thought people who are stuck with their volumes low might want to try this
approach for resetting their volume back above 35%. It sure seems easier
than resetting the phone. I haven't tested this within other apps, but was
really glad to find it worked in iFarkle.
