Steve, If you are reading a message you want to reply to, double-tap it. This puts thre phone in editing mode. It will show all your saved messages with that person and on the bottom of the screen is message text blank line. If you double-tap on that, you will be in editing mode with the keyboard on the bottom as usual. There is a dictate button there to the right of the more numbers button, if you double-tap with one finger, you can dictate your reply and then double-tap with two fingers when done.
