Hi all
I can hear it very clearly as well and I wear hearing aids. At least the
next time I do a restore I will clearly hear what's happening without
all the fuzziness in the previous compact voice. Go Apple!

It is the British English compact voice. It's vastly improved in 7.1, really
glad Apple took that feedback on board.

Hi Jonathan,
Can you tell me what VO voice you were using when you did the audio information
on the Bluetooth keyboard? I am very hard of hearing and that male voice you
were using was very good for me to understand.
Thanks in advance
Ed

Subject: Re: after IOS update lost partial keyboard function
I've been trying to establish this as well. One thing I would observe is that
the problem appears to be a bigger deal in iPhone than iPad. Perhaps more
sighted people use Bluetooth keyboards with iPad, or, perhaps it's just
VO-specific, but I've been able to find no non-VoiceOver user reporting the
problem yet.

My question is: is all of this voice over specific? That is, are sighted people
experiencing it as well? Judging by all the Mac- related accounts I follow on
twitter, It is not a widespread problem yet, or at least it has not been
reported. Still, it seems very strange that voiceover would have anything to do
with keyboard functionality...

Hi everyone, there are indeed some serious issues relating to iOS 7.1 and
Bluetooth keyboards. You would find them very occasionally in previous builds
of iOS 7 but they are far worse now, so much so that frankly, if you use a
Bluetooth keyboard extensively, I'd think twice about upgrading until this is
fixed.
Yesterday I put together an Audioboo describing the problem, and also giving
some advice as to how it can be worked around to some extent. The audio is here.

Hope that helps.
