Interesting, my brightness remained at 0 after the update.

I was concerned about the use of the batteries well. It seemed to be draining
faster than before the upgrade. However, I went into settings and noticed that
brightness was back to 100%. I turned it down to zero and now my battery seems
to be behaving as before.

This only works to an extent, as under ios version 7.06 these apps in the
background didn't particularly drain the battery.

Hi, JoJo,

I am also having this experience as well. Someone on the list mentioned this
a couple of days ago and said that you need to go into Background App Refresh
in the Settings menu under General and the Background App Refresh is after
Usage. You need to turn off apps such as GPS apps which are running in the
background. I did this and also turned Background App Refresh off and my
battery is still running down faster than before the upgrade. I don't know
what else to tell you and I apologize.
