There is a start/stop button. There probably are other apps out there that have more features like keeping a log but you can't beat the price and, it is totally accessible. Just be careful when running. The faster you run, the easier it is to get hurt.

There is a pedometer already built into your iPhone. Open settings, Nikkei plus iPod. Double tap on Niki plus iPad. You can in settings within the app select your present weight in either pounds or KG. You can also select your power song and even your choice of male or female voices.
