Again, afaik,  the app coding should always work on both as they're the same 
processor type and OS;  it is only display size that is the operable issue. 
An iPhone app takes up a fraction of the display of an iPad, but it can blow 
it up full screen.  An iPad app will assume so much display area it's never 
going to fit on the little iPhone screens.

That's the simplification as I understand it.

An iPad app should be smart enough to check this first, and exit once it 
realises, before trying to do anything stupid.

BTW, I think it was BMW that pioneered the emergency spare wheel as a small 
one to save trunk/boot space, so it was just enough to limp home on. 
Terrible on potholes.

When I told him that this app was designed for the iPhone, he told me that I 
could put the wrong size tire on a car and get it to work sometimes. That 
was basically his comparison. I just thought it was very odd that he decided 
to ask me about this instead of just taking my issue.
