To enable the modicons go to settings  general international. Once there choose 
keyboards then add new keyboard.  Then choose the emoji keyboard after that the 
keyboard is added. Now go to a text message that you are typing then choose the 
next keyboard to switch keyboards then choose the emoji you want to insert in 
to you're message by double tapping it.
