Hi Chermeen, Which phone do you have?
I would do 2 things: First, make sure your screen is clean, e.g. wipe it with a damp cloth or if you have an LCD screen cleaning kit, use that. Second, power your phone down, wait at least 30 seconds and turn it back on. Make sure that before you turn it off you bring up the app switcher with a quick double press of the home key and then close all apps. See if this helps and let us know. I have a very simple case on my phone--and this problem seems to be present regardless of whether or not the case is on, so I suspect it isn't an issue of my case somehow tinkering with the proximity sensor.
