Josh,

This is not a goal but more like making others more aware of what the DB community needs.

I will let Rich speak. Thank you, Rich.

Actually, it does if you're trying to get a solution to the
problem. If someone did have a solution, I'm sure they would've offered it. His goal may have been to see if others had a solution.

Sieghard,

I have no fat problem with your question.

Nope, I cannot hear anything, including speech, but I do have
some hearing. Depending upon the pitch. There are a few
certain
sounds I can hear. Audiologically speaking, I am entitled as
"profoundly deaf". Yes, there are DB folks who have hearing. I
never wear a hearing aid. They are totally useless. I am not
trained for that. I am happy to be DB like Rich McGann.

So, in this particular case, I depend heavily on VIBRATIONS.
Good thing I have that sense to feel vibrations!

If that option is unavailable for the DB, I could shoot them
with
a suggestion. That would be very helpful for me and other DB!

Thank you.

Hi Todd,

No, as far as I know there is no vibration or an option to
enable
vibration
to indicate this. You could write to accessibil...@apple.com
and
suggest
that they look at including this.
If you don't mind me asking, but can you hear nothing at all? I
am asking
because as you probably know the iPhone does integrate nicely
with some of
the hearing aid brands out there or maybe some deafblind people
who have
some hearing might be able to use a headset at a loud volume to
still hear
Voiceover.
Using a wired headset such as the Apple Earpods also serves as a
convenient
way to take the picture without jiggling the phone since the
volume up
button on the headset remote will take the photo or, if you have
video
enabled, the Play/Pause button on the headset will start/stop
video
recording.

Regards,
Sieghard

All,

You always talk too much about Voiceover but WAIT! If a
deafblind needs to
pose a picture of someone or an object, how can he know the
camera is
properly focused despite the VO? I remind y'all not all
deafblind can hear
speech! Therefore, is there a way those deafblind to know the
focus is
performed?
Vibration?

I am sure some deafblind folks will come in front of y'all and
say
something!

Thank you.

Hi Casey

In most cases voiceover will announce when the camera has
focused. Voiceover also announce how many faces that the camera
has
detected.

Here is what I have found that helps me take pretty good
pictures.

1 line up your body so that you are directly in front of the
object or person.
2. Stand about 6 feet away from the object or person.
4. I have found that if the top edge of the phone is level with
the top of my forehead, I usually get the person from head to
toes. Of course, this depends on how tall the person is. A
tall
person, you might just get from head to knees, unless you step
away a few more steps.
5. Being toddlers and young children are short, it is best when
taking pictures of little ones to kneel down about 6 feet away
from them when taking pictures. This way the child isn't having
to look up at you, thus this makes the person look more
naturally
posed.

Click away and have a sighted person to give you pointers on how
to perfect your picture taking.

Donna
Hi I have the iPhone 5.
And how do you get it to tell you when taking A picture that you
are in focus or not for A good picture?
If you are totally blind.
Also if you would like to take A picture of someone how can you
make sure you get A good shot of there face like A sighted
person
would?
