The original model was not durable. I went through 2 sets because eventually
the housing just started cracking. The electronics were located in the back,
and the occasional flexing of the housing would break the connections, and
you would lose audio on one side. Also, the audio bleed was terrible. I
recall sitting next to someone on a bus, and the person singing along with
my music.
The new ones are constructed differently, with the electronics on the right
side. This allows for flexing of the headband without putting stress on the
connections. The whole construction just seems to be more durable. They also
seem to fit my head more comfortably.
