Hi Nicki,

Go into your timer app under clock and flick all the way to the bottom to where it says when timer ends, stop playing. Once you are set there, you just have to say, "set timer for 1 hour," and the book will stop playing when time is up. Someone here has mentioned to turn off VO, but it does not announce when the timer is stopping or anything like that on mine. I thought that was something that only happens on the BARD players. I do have "do not disturb on at night though." That could be the difference.

I would be interested to know if others have to turn VO off in order to not here when the phone timer is stopping.

Thanks,
Lois

Sorry but what command do you use with SIRI for setting a sleep timer?

After I use Siri to set a sleep timer and Play, I use the three finger
double tap to turn off speech. Otherwise, when it does shut off, the
announcement that it is shutting down inevitably wakes me up.

Then you have fun trying to find where you left off. I do that with my BARD

I can't go to sleep if I set a sleep timer. It's weird. If I just lay
there and listen and pretend I won't fall asleep I do. If I try to set
a timer, though, I stay wide awake.

Thanks Jane. It can't come out soon enough for me.

I heard that the ability to set a timer within BARD will be
available with the next update. Not sure when that will be.

I am thinking about switching totally to the BARD app instead of
using a DAISY reader. The thing I love about my Stream is that I
can reach over and tap the sleep alarm but in the app I have to go
into the timer and set it to shut off. Is there an easier way to
do this? I listen to books when I am going to sleep.
