I'm really looking forward to a non-invasive way of checking blood sugar. With today's technology there's no reason why we should have to prick our fingers to get a blood glucose reading. I truly believe the technology is there but has been held back by lobbiests for the big pharmaceutical companies. If anyone can get it done it would be Apple.
Keeping my fingers crossed. Apple is working with at least one manufacturer of medical devices, I think it was something like Epic Systems, but I can't quite remember, and I'm sure there will be more just as there will be more in the area of home automation. Both health kit and home kit are features of iOS 8 and I'm sure there is lots of good stuff coming within the next year or so. A sighted perxzson has to set them up with the wireless internet, but they work ok after that. I know that there have been discussions here on the subject of the iPhone and blood sugar monitoring so I was wondering whether the iPhone might help with blood pressure monitoring somehow. I have a talking blood pressure monitor from the RNIB but I have a feeling that it is rather imprecise and gives me not infrequently rather wild readings. > > Thanks for any comments. > > Andrew > -- The following information is important for all members of the viphone list.
