Oh yes, you can navigate solely with the touch screen. I use the keyboard 
mostly for typing long passages, and I like to explore the keyboard 
implementation, but iOS has the most accessible touch-screen interface I've 
ever encountered. I'm fairly sure that physical Bluetooth keyboard 
implementation was added later.
