Hi Neil, I set up my scale a couple of days ago. It was absolutely accurate regarding my weight. The glitch was with the calculation of my BMI. I weighed myself twice. There was less than a half pound difference in the two weights. However, there was an 8% difference regarding my BMI. I called Fit Bit regarding the discrepancy. I happened to get someone that could have been new or just doesn't understand body weight and BMI. She said the reason for the 8% increase in my BMI was due to the 6/10's of a pound increase in one of the weights. Do you have any idea whether metal implants could affect the BMI calculation? I have quite a bit of metal. I have a totally artificial ankle, two hip implants and a spinal cord stimulator with a battery.
I did contact the company for my spinal cord stimulator. They said some people have noticed a small surge in stimulation. I did turn the device off while weighing myself. Fit Bit is going to send a new scale. I appreciate that very much. Just trying to figure out if this is going to be an ongoing problem due to the metal.
