Maybe it is and maybe KNFB Reader does its own digital compensation for that.
The fact here is that not that many people have a 6 Plus yet and I don’t think
anybody has done a really good comparison with let’s say an iPhone 5 or 5S and
a 6 Plus trying to do the exact same scans and so on. Another fact, however, is
that a huge majority of the feedback is coming from people with iOS 5, 5C and
5S devices and even some 4S and just about everybody is getting awesome
results. This would indicate that KNFB Reader is already working extremely
well. If I scan a few pages of perfect print and get basically 100% accuracy
then how can it get better? I don’t deny that some blind people maybe are less
successful in holding the phone still, but I think there are also many and I
would include myself who can probably hold the phone just as still as a sighted
person. Of course this is just conjecture on my part since I have not done any
studies.

Sieghard

Back in 2007, I worked with a company that was trying to develop a portable OCR
system for the blind. We found that sighted people are able to keep the digital
camera image extremely stable. Blind people, on the other hand, are unable to
do this because we cannot see when the image moves and shakes very slightly. We
do not have the feedback from our eyes to perform the automatic corrections
which cause the hand not to drift. It is better when we use two hands, but the
problem persists. In other words, it is, and will always be, a very big problem.

I think, the camera stabilization, is something that should not affect so much,
when you take a picture of a document, using your voice, or using a Bluetooth
keyboard. So using a 5s without this feature, or using a iPhone 6, should not
be a huge difference, more than the size of the device.

I bought the 5s when it came out and am not interested in buying another phone
in the near future. I’d be interested in knowing if there is a significant
difference in functionality of knfb reader between the 5s and 6 or 6 plus.
