Braille Screen Input does not offer any editing functions except for deleting by character. This makes sense as there are editing functions built into iOS so why reinvent the wheel? If you mean how to insert a new line then flick right with two fingers.

Speaking of braille input mode, and yes you can input braille in 8 when you've
selected it in the roter and can go from there. I'm sure Jonathan talks about
that, I haven't seen his book yet but I know he's a huge proponent of that. I
say that, to ask this. In doing braille input using the iPad or iPhone, how
does one go to the next line, or is there a way. Thanks guys, and sorry if I
confused anybody. tAke care.

Jonathan's book is referring to braille input with a Braille display.
It is not, for example, possible to enter any corded commands on the
on screen keyboard. And there is not 8-dot braille input for the on
screen keyboard on the phones.

New Braille Commands

A number of functions for which there has previously been no Braille
command have now been assigned one.

Pressing F-cord will perform a search of the screen. This is
equivalent to using VO+F on a Bluetooth keyboard, and is particularly
useful when searching for a string of text on a web page or within a
document.

Pressing q-chord toggles QuickNav on and off. This feature is
particularly handy on web pages, since single-letter commands can be
used to move to specific items on a web page.

With the clear division of Braille functions into input and output
categories, there have been some changes to a couple of commands.
Previously, G-chord would toggle between contracted and uncontracted
Braille, and the setting would affect input and output. G-chord now
only changes Braille output. The three available options through
which you can cycle are "6-dot", "8-dot", and "Contracted.

If you'd like to toggle Braille input, that's the domain of dots
2-3-6-chord, which previously toggled between 6 and 8-dot Braille.
Just as with output, the available choices are "6-dot", "8-dot", and
"Contracted.

No, the three-finger swipe to the right doesn't give eight-dot
input, at least not on my 5S or 6+. And it isn't an option in the
braille settings.

I tried and tried to turn over a new leaf.
I got crumpled wads of tear-stained paper
thrown in the trash!
Then God gave me a new heart and life:
His joy for my despairing tears!
And now, every day:
"This I call to mind,
and therefore I have hope:
The steadfast love of the Lord
never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness."

Hi,

I don't have a 6 plus phone so I can't test it, but try a three
finger swipe to the right when the braille keyboard is open.

Cheers,
Brett.

Hi David.

I only think it is the IPad that has the 8 dots input option
unfortunately. I hope we can get apple to make it for the IPhone 6 plus.

Have you tried with the three finger swipe to change modes.
Best regards Annie.

Hi all,

I am now performing all of my writing using braille input mode
on my iPhone, and absolutely love this input mode.

Someone reported that the iPhone 6+ has 8 dot mode for braille
input. I looked at a 6+ yesterday in the Apple store. I could not
find any 8 dot input mode for the demo 6+. Can you please tell me
how to put the iPhone 6+ into 8 dot braille input mode?
