I was under the presumption that Apple doesn't CHARGE for its
Services so long as you have purchased its AppleCare, but I could be
WRONG. If anyone knows, feel free to correct me.
It's just a different policy between Microsoft & Apple on whether or
not to CHARGE for Technical Services (InPerson and/or TelePhone).

My wife has an Iphone 5s, I have a 4s.
She did not buy Apple care for her phone, I did.
This morning, she said Apple had pushed through the ios 8 update on
her phone, mine is still showing 7.12.
Why would this be?
She uses screen zoom on her phone, and is now having difficulty
adapting to the new unwanted update.
I am a voiceover user.
To my mind I am not sure it is fair for Apple to insist that
everyone load the new ios update.
This may be an unfair comparison, but a couple of days ago on my PC,
Microsoft pushed through an i.e. 11 update. I use Jaws 14, which
does not work well with i.e. 11. I was able to call for free the
Microsoft disability support line to walk through removing the
update because they understood the negative effect on my screen reader.
By comparison, apple charges for their tech support, which my wife
does not have, and there is no going back to the previous ios version.
I think I like Microsoft's corporate policy better.
Thoughts?
