I did download it to see if I wanted to keep any of it, but it still shows up 
with a download button by each track. I have tried every method suggested on 
this list to get it out of the list and not clutter up the navigation through 
the songs I want, but nothing has worked to date.

I don't think Apple actually put it on devices. It's listed in my Music app on 
my iPhone, but I've never downloaded it. I still see a download button next to 
each track. I guess people just don't want to see it in their list of artists, 
albums and the like.
