You also may be eligible for a refund from Apple. When you get the Email from the App Store with your receipt, you can select the “Report a problem” link and sign in with your Apple ID. Follow the directions and describe the problem (e.g. the app is inaccessible with VoiceOver) and I see no reason why a refund wouldn’t be granted. If ever the developer implements accessibility in the app, you can buy it again. There is no point contacting the developer to ask for a refund, since developers don’t handle payment or refunds in Apple’s App Stores.
