Thanks Sieghard. I knew I could get artist and song title info pretty easily but I was more interested in accessing other fields that are housed in the ID3 tags. I know there is a year field and a comments field that the Stream will read. I'm beginning to think accessing this info is not easily done on my phone although I can get to it within iTunes.

If so that information is displayed in the music app and, if you have the phone locked you just have to wake it up and it's right there on the lock screen. You can also ask SIRI "What's playing right now" and you'll get the song title and artist.
